There are a lot of things that complete a garden; there's the foliage and the flowers be it perennials, biennials or annuals.

A garden is like a work of art. It takes a lot of time and effort for it to reach its full bloom. Gardening is not merely planting various types of flowers and foliage here and there. For a garden to be an embodiment of beauty, the gardener will need to have a plan. He or she will have to map out the location of each flower type as well as its arrangements be it ascending or descending. But it doesn't end there.

After planting everything, the plants have to be continually nourished and one of its basic needs is hydration. We all know that plants need water and simply swishing water onto your plants is not enough. To ensure that your plants get all the water it needs the following tips will surely help.

1. Know the plant type. Plants come in different forms. There are plants that need more water while there are some that don't really need that much. Newly planted trees, climbers, shrubs and perennials require more water as compared to cactus.

2. Morning and Evening. This is the best time to water your plants. In the morning and evening there is less evaporation meaning less water is lost plus the water temperature at this time is cool and refreshing. So the next time you water your plants try watering them either in the morning or in the evening.

3. Lawns. If you have a lawn it would be best if you leave an inch of water once week. In this way the ground beneath will remain slightly moistened for some time. It is damaging for plants when the ground beneath them completely dries out. In case you live in an area where the weather is hot and the soil is sandy then a lot more water will be needed.

4. Roots. Keep in mind that water has to reach the plants' roots. The roots are the ones that absorb water in order to nourish the plant. When water doesn't reach the roots the plant will end up malnourished. Do not be hasty when watering; it would be for the best if you provide ample time for each plant.

5. Weather. It wouldn't hurt to take the weather into consideration. The type of weather will dictate the frequency of watering your plants. When the weather is hot and dry then it would be best to water your plants frequently thus keeping them from drying out. If the weather is cold and rainy then you should water less.

Plants are like people; it needs nutrients to flourish and like humans it also needs water. By properly watering your plants you are assured that your garden is on its way to full bloom.
